Connect Google accounts via OAuth

Connect your Gmail or Google Workspace account to Outlio using secure OAuth authentication. This is the recommended method for Google accounts.

What You'll Need

  • A Gmail or Google Workspace email account
  • Access to grant third-party app permissions
  • An active Outlio subscription

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Navigate to Email Accounts

From your Outlio dashboard, click on Email Accounts in the left sidebar.

Sidebar → Email Accounts
2

Click "Add New"

Click the blue Add New button in the top right corner of the page.

3

Select "Gmail / Google Workspace"

On the provider selection page, click on the Gmail / Google Workspace card.

4

Sign in to Google

You'll be redirected to Google's sign-in page. Choose the account you want to connect or sign in with your credentials.

5

Grant Permissions

Google will ask you to grant Outlio permission to send and read emails on your behalf. Click Allow to proceed.

Outlio requests access to:

  • - Send email on your behalf
  • - Read email messages
  • - View email labels

Done!

You'll be redirected back to Outlio and your account will appear in the Email Accounts list. You can now use this account to send campaigns.

Automatic Token Refresh

Outlio automatically refreshes your Google access tokens, so your account stays connected. If your account ever disconnects, simply reconnect using the same steps.

Google Workspace Accounts

If you're using a Google Workspace account (company email), your admin may need to allow third-party app access.

Admin Consent May Be Required

If you see an error about app access being blocked, contact your Google Workspace admin to whitelist Outlio or enable third-party app access for your organization.

Troubleshooting

"Access blocked" error
This usually means your Google Workspace admin has restricted third-party apps. Ask your admin to allow Outlio access, or use an SMTP connection instead.
Account keeps disconnecting
If you recently changed your Google password or revoked app access, you'll need to reconnect. Go to Email Accounts, delete the disconnected account, and add it again.
Can't find my account type
If your email ends in @gmail.com, use the Google OAuth option. If you have a custom domain with Google Workspace (e.g., you@company.com but hosted on Google), also use the Google OAuth option.
