SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for Google Workspace

Configure Google Workspace authentication for outreach.

Overview

Google Workspace domains should authorize Google SPF, generate Gmail DKIM, and publish DMARC.

Recommended workflow

1

Add or merge SPF with include:_spf.google.com.

2

In Google Admin, open Gmail authentication and generate a DKIM record.

3

Add the google._domainkey TXT record to DNS.

4

Start authentication in Google Admin.

5

Publish DMARC at _dmarc and verify in Outlio.

Tips that make this work better

Tip

Use 2048-bit DKIM keys when supported.

Tip

If Start Authentication fails, wait for DNS propagation and check the host field.

Tip

Do not delete existing SPF includes for other legitimate senders.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Adding the DKIM value as the host instead of the TXT value.
  • Using the Google account login page instead of Google Admin for DKIM.

Done well, this should leave you with

A cleaner Outlio setup, fewer avoidable campaign issues, and a more reliable path from setup to replies.
